On November 11, 2010, U.S. Chamber Watch released a report highlighting the central role that the U.S. Chamber of Commerce played during the 2010 election cycle in electing a Republican House and electing more Republicans to the Senate. The Chamber promised $75 million and its most aggressive voter outreach program yet. With this war chest - funded anonymously by the largest corporate interests in the world - the Chamber coordinated with over 30 conservative groups, including American Crossroads, Crossroads GPS and Club for Growth, to develop and implement strategies for Republican gains in both houses of Congress.Chamber Watch found that although the Chamber supported a handful of Democratic House candidates and one Senate candidate, that support was a low-level, token attempt to appear bipartisan. The Chamber spent more than 93% of its reported election budget to elect Republicans. A close look at the U.S. Chamber’s role in this year’s elections highlights the true partisanship of the U.S. Chamber’s electoral agenda.
